FLOWERS THAT ARE JEWELS
Nature gives us shapes, colors, aromas, sounds and textures, I materialize them to create this collection of flowers made in bronze, painted with natural oxides and river pearls.
Combinable and subtle, refined and delicate. For original, elegant women who seek to highlight their style with unique design objects.
FLOWERS. A THOUSAND AROMAS AND COLOURS.
What happens to us when we connect with nature? The senses are sharpened. The body remembers. We feel the coolness of the grass under the bare feet, the warm humidity of the earth, the crunch of the leaves, the texture of the plants we caress: soft, rough, pungent. A flower can smell of childhood, of summer, of grandmother's house, of a corner of my city, of a precise moment that we did not know we had saved. Nature not only surrounds us: it inhabits us. And in my case, it also guides me to create. Living close to nature transformed me. The experiences, the landscapes, the walks among trees and flowers taught me to look with different eyes. And today, all those experiences are filtered into what I do: contemporary jewellery inspired by flowers, designed and created by hand in my workshop with artisanal techniques that I have developed over the years, where I cut, chisel, mould and give colour to the metal to be able to tell stories and experiences. My collections of contemporary floral jewellery not only reproduce plant shapes. Every flower, every earring, each ring is born from an experience, from some memory. They are the fruit of every walk through the garden, the compilation of strokes that I gather in my logs that accompany me on my travels around the world. I met some flowers, I lived with them. Others I crossed them only once. There are many that never existed: they were born from the imagination, from a shadow reflected on a wall, from a drop that falls on the window and transforms into a petal, from a paper cutout or a heart that gives rise to a next decorative flower. And then I wonder: How many flowers can we invent? How many can we transform into jewellery? How many thousands of species bloom every day in this world we inhabit? How many have I crossed and how many do I need to know and discover? Flowers have been a symbol in all cultures. In Greek mythology, the anemone is born from the blood of Adonis; in many Latin American indigenous traditions, flowers are an offering, medicine, a link to the sacred. They are language when we don't know how to say. They represent love, mourning, celebration, resistance. Some are medicine, others are dyes and food. In my work as a floral jewellery designer I collect those memories and meanings, and translate them into pieces that can accompany other people on their way. I want my flower-inspired jewellery to be not just ornaments, but to function as talismans, as emotional maps, as ways to connect with the essentials. I work with silver, brass, enamels, watercolour on metal. Each technique has its time, its rhythm, its gesture. Each jewel I make is handmade, without industrial moulds, one by one. It is a slow, personal and honest process. I'm interested in each piece being an amulet: something that not only adorns, but connects. Take care. That I remember. Each of my flowers, each of my jewels is unique, because a drop of watercolour does not always fall the same, because each brushstroke represents a moment. Like every flower and every leaf you find on your walks through the forest, you will never find two alike. And there are not two identical jewels among my collections. The Margarita collection was born for my mother. It's called that for her. It was my way of having her close, of feeling her presence on the other side of the sea. A simple and powerful flower, like love that does not need to be adorned to be strong. Daisies always seemed to me childhood amulets, of soft certainties. I designed this collection to have my mom closer in my adventures around the world. It's a way to carry her with me, to remember her, to feel supported. The Hortensia collection is a childhood souvenir. My grandfather's garden was a forest of hydrangeas. White, lilac, violet, blue. I looked at them from below and they hypnotised me with their perfect geometry. Its green leaves, big, strong. Hydrangeas have something magical: they can change colour according to the soil where they grow, as if they adapted to the world without ceasing to be themselves. That also inspired me: the ability to transform without losing the essence. I feel like one of them, today in distant lands where I was born, I adapt, I transform but I do not lose my essence. Today, that collection became one of the most beloved: a tribute to the mystery, the adaptability and beauty of the diverse. The Amapola collection was a profoundly special experience. It was a flower created with my community. Through social networks, we were choosing together its shape, its colours, its size, its details. That jewel is not only mine: it is the result of many voices, ideas, desires. It is a way of designing that speaks of my vision of the world: the collective over the individual. Because creating with others not only enriches the result, but makes it more real, more alive, stronger. It is a political position that reinforces social ties and reminds us that together is better than alone. This collection also reflects the way I understand contemporary design: as a conversation, as a fabric of stories. In a world marked by mass production, choosing an artisanal and collective jewel is also choosing another way of linking us. My floral jewels play with colours, with the figurative, with what refers to the body, to the human, to what excites. I'm interested in the detail, but also the power of the whole. Some pieces are large, daring, others small and delicate. But they are all born from the same desire: to accompany. I work under a slow fashion philosophy, with ethical, sustainable and personalised processes. I use noble and durable materials, and each collection takes months of work and reflection. I believe in a conscious jewellery store, attentive to its environment, which does not look for ephemeral fashions, but lasting bonds. Every earring, every brooch, every ring that I create from my workshop in Europe, is in dialogue with nature. With the Mediterranean Sea that surrounds me. With the wide skies, with the memory of my Argentine land, with the indigenous roots that I carry in my blood. In that intersection of cultures and landscapes my collections flourish: as an offering of beauty, as a way to resist speed and disconnection. Every floral earring, every leaf-shaped ring, every hand-painted necklace carries something of me and some of the earth that holds me. It takes time, attention and a lot of love. If you are looking for contemporary handmade jewellery, if you want a unique floral jewel, if you value artisanal work and conscious processes, this is your home. In weddings and important celebrations, flowers have always been a symbol and meaning. Since ancient times, choosing a flower is choosing a way of saying what sometimes we don't know how to put into words. They represent love, union, transformation, memory, desire, rebirth. In many cultures, flowers are used to bless new beginnings, to protect, to celebrate what blooms and also to accompany what is said goodbye. A rose can speak of passionate love, of the fire that ignites. The orange blossom symbolises purity and the promise of the future. The daisies, innocence and tenderness. The coves, elegance and silent strength. The poppies, the surrender, the freedom, the memory. And many times, beyond the traditional meaning, there are flowers that represent something intimate, their own: a kindergarten, a favourite season, a loved one. In Japanese culture, for example, there is an ancestral art called hanakotoba, the language of flowers. There, each flower communicates an emotion or a secret message: the cherry blossoms (sakura) represent the beauty of the ephemeral, reminding us that everything blooms and also happens; peonies, prosperity and respect; camellias, love that is brave and silent. During the hanami, the contemplation of cherry trees in spring is transformed into a collective ritual, a way of honouring the beautiful and transitory. That vision, where the simple and brief is also the most valuable, deeply inspires me when creating. If you are about to get married, if you want to give a meaningful gift or mark a vital moment - a birth, an anniversary, a farewell or a new beginning - you can choose a flower that represents you, that connects you with your story. In my workshop we will turn it into a jewel, petal by petal, shape by shape, with the attention and care that the only thing deserves. Because it's not just about wearing something beautiful, but about wearing something that tells you, that takes care of you, that speaks for you. A jewel made especially for that moment that you will remember forever. These flowers do not need to be watered. While they will resist occasional moisture, constant contact with water can affect the colour or finish of some pieces. Therefore, we recommend storing your jewellery in a dry place, avoiding perfumes or creams directly on them, and treating them with the same care with which you would take care of a delicate flower that accompanies you over time. In addition, many clients ask me if they can customise their jewellery. Of course! Starting from our designs we can adapt them to the taste of each person, taking them to a different accessory. For example: do you like sunflower earrings but do you want them in the shape of a necklace? We can give it the size you want and the colour you like best. Your flower, your way. In addition to flowers such as daisies, hydrangeas or poppies, I also work with sunflowers, cacti, lilacs, wild flowers, bignonias, vine leaves and many more. And they are not alone: among our designs there are also bees, hummingbirds, crickets and small beings that make the garden work in harmony. Because every flower has its community. In a world saturated with soulless objects, my proposal is simple: return to the essentials. Listen to what the earth tells us. Make our memories bloom. Create jewellery that embraces, that cares, accompanies. May they witness our transformations. In my online store you will find handmade floral jewellery, unique earrings inspired by real and imagined flowers, botanical rings, necklaces full of colour. Each piece tells a story. And maybe one of them crosses with yours. Remember that we do everything on request. Production times are slow, and both you and other people are waiting for your jewellery. I ask you for patience and time to be able to develop it. They are not born overnight. They have to bloom: first a sprout, then water, love, patience... and little by little, the jewel comes to life. If you need your flower urgently, write to us and we will tell you what we have available. Perhaps it is a time of year where there are few flowers ready to leave the workshop, but at other times the garden needs more time and hours of care. Keep this in mind so that your experience with us is pleasant :) Discover the complete collection at www.mariarosua.com, choose your flower and let it bloom with you. Welcome
